Welcome!
Avery Scott is a historical essayist specializing in character-driven narratives of the American Revolution, foundational statesmen, and late 18th-century transatlantic conflict.

History is rarely a straight line of inevitable dates; it is a chaotic web of human choices made under intense pressure. My work focuses on pulling readers directly into those high-stakes moments, exploring the moral gray areas, psychological burdens, and pragmatic gambles faced by individuals at major turning points in the past.
Currently, I am a regular contributor to *History is Now Magazine*, where my writing ranges from multi-part biographical deep dives into the diplomatic crucibles of John Adams to tactical analyses of Age of Sail privateers. By blending narrative storytelling with structural analysis, my goal is to make complex geopolitical and socio-political history cinematic, accessible, and deeply relevant to modern audiences.
Based in the United States, I am always looking to collaborate with editors on deep-dive features, long-form historical essays, and research commissions. When I'm not digging through 18th-century letters and archives, I can usually be found wrangling my (adorable) children, fixing something in the garage, or shanking balls on the golf course.
